Do you have what it takes to become a future consultant? Do you like to roll up your sleeves and tackle real managers’ problems?
Do you like to work with students from different programmes, from Rotterdam ánd abroad?
Then you cannot afford to miss this semester!
Agile Consulting – an International Business Pressure Cooker – is a semester developed for 3rd year students (offered in spring). The programme integrates different functional business areas to prepare you the best way possible for the real world of business. Our 100% case-based programme provides you with a hands-on approach of what it takes to consult companies and other organisations along real challenges. Have you been looking for creating impact? This is your chance.
As part of an interdisciplinary and intercultural management team, you will be responsible for identifying key challenges faced by the participating companies and managers, for formulating an appropriate strategy, and for constructing feasible and concrete action plans. This performance takes place under increasing time pressure (a real “pressure cooker”) and often in front of a live audience, solving both written and live cases for companies from the Rotterdam area.
During the first weeks of the programme, you will be introduced to the case solving method, which will give you a completely new perspective on how to solve challenges. Then, we reach ‘basecamp’ by learning about the different managerial perspectives (strategy, operations, marketing, HR, ICT and finance) and prepare you to work in teams. Besides the central lectures you will also complete self-study assignments that bring you up to speed.
After that, we take a deep dive in solving the wicked challenges different organisations are facing. Expect the unexpected – you will continuously be challenged to learn and innovate, adapt and overcome. That is why we use so-called agile consultancy principles. The real goal of agile consulting is, as the term suggests, to be flexible. You look at the problem from different perspectives and you propose different possibilities to solve it. To foster this adaptability, agile teams need to be small, entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary. That is why your team consist of no more than 4 to 5 students, from different programmes and from different cultures.
Along your journey, you get coached by experienced lecturers and alumni with different backgrounds. Join us on this journey. You will have no regrets.
NOTE: check with us or your programme manager if you have permission to take part in Agile Consulting (3rd year semester programme)
