The annual NIBS conference was held in mid-May. This Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) aims to work together to further improve business education and align it with the demands of our time. This year’s conference was in Korea and the theme was Leadership in a digital era. Some leading companies were present to share their views with professors and deans from around the world. A recurring topic was the need for better employee training. There was also a lot of focus on the rise of chat gpt. What role will that play within higher education? How to deal with it? This question will undoubtedly play a big role, for instance, in case competitions where the use of the internet is allowed. Among the case competition coaches present, this discussion was already started. Of course, the final of the Business Plan Competition, a kind of derivative of the NIBS case competition, also took place during the conference. After Rotterdam took gold last year, we did not win a medal this year. A very interesting visit to Hyuandai Elevators concluded the very successful conference. Lots of food for thought and many new opportunities for even more fruitful cooperation across the globe!
